Just when I am frustrated with modern life and wishing all things 21st-century would eat it, I sit down to Herbie Hancock live with Joni Mitchell. I almost threw the remote at the television but instead hit the power button and well, now, where would I ever get the turn to see two of my favorite musicians legendary musicians performing together except on HD television? So I leave it on and watch. And as Herbie sighs out a closed-eyed organic flow and Jonie volunteers her raw soul to me and I suddenly forget about MediCare benefits and credit card payments and death and remembering to live and I am in a studio with legends being taught to feel music once again and I remember how to improvise and I realize that music is still everywhere and you mustn't be concerned with the music to perform it and I smile suddenly and know why I was never good at jazz. Herbie doesn't care what I think but picks up some kind of electric piano and whips that into shape and I think that jazz is meant for colors and cigarettes not solemn studios so I move Herbie to a lounge where together we can let our thoughts yell out before they disappear into the darkness but it doesn't matter that they're gone because they have really lived and I'm happy that we were able to have this conversation. And now it doesn't matter that tomorrow is only Tuesday, because maybe tomorrow will bring pop and tribal dancing. And all for the $65/month package deal.
We got HD Comcast installed on Saturday, and still all I want to watch is rerun episodes of "Family Guy." Episodes that I can almost quote. I'm pathetic. Although, I did just finish scaring myself with an episode of "Paranormal State," and the movie selection is nice. Still, who can resist Peter fighting a giant chicken? Certainly not this gal. Because I am sophisticated. Yeaaaaaah.
Here are just five reasons why my cat rocks the casbah:
1.) She plays fetch. That's right: she plays fetch. For real. Never seen that in a cat before.
2.) She carries on perfectly delightful conversations. This is the most vocal and vocally responsive cat ever.
3.) She is itty bitty. Skinny kitty. Petite feline.
4.) I've never known a cat that likes to be held and cuddled as much as Freya does. Not one for being pet, until you pick her up and hold her. She loves everyone. And we totally spoon at night. Who can resist that kind of lovin'?
5.) She has the shiniest, softest fur ever. I just want to rub my face all over her.
Also, she loves me more than anyone else. Because I'm her mommy. And that is aswesome.
I discovered cocoa pebbles and chocolate soy milk, and I think they have changed my life. We rarely got sugary cereals growing up, and I never missed them. I love my oats. However, I've learned that cocoa pebbles make not only the morning happy, but any time of the day is more delicious and crispy. Chocolate soy milk is also very nice, and I think it is my new morning beverage (although my sister would argue that soy is mucus-producing and bad for your system, and she's right, but then imagine all the crap I was putting in my coffee and I think it is a trade-up.)
It's dinner time. I'm going to have some cocoa pebbles.
